Practice makes perfect when it comes to mastering the art of cutting glass! This workshop heavily concentrates on precision cutting. Once you gain confidence in cutting glass and really grasp which tools are used for what and why, it opens a whole new world of options for you. It’s a fantastic and vital addition to your skill set should you want to take your fusing journey further.

This workshop is suitable for beginners as well as students that have had some previous experience as there will be a variety of design options to suit all levels to choose from. An element of patience may be required if you are feeling ambitious and like designs that require meticulous planning!

The workshop will start with an overview of what to expect from your 3hrs. We will explain how fused glass works and the things to consider when choosing colours and why.

We will then discuss which design and size you would like to make and start creating. There will be a variety of colours to choose from in a mixture of transparent and opaque glass.

You will have a choice to make one of the following:

1 x 20cm Round dish

1 x 20cm x 20cm shallow dish

4 x 10cm x 10cm coasters

By the end of this workshop, you should be far more confident in cutting glass.

At the end of the day, we will discuss the firing programme and explain the various stages.

We can then discuss how best to progress, and advice is given on suitable workshops to further your interest should you become hooked!

You could consider framing your masterpiece to make it into a wonderful piece of wall art, or make a set of coasters.

Hot and cold refreshments are provided throughout the day, along with biscuits.
